The International Museum of Cultures presented an Easter Pageant celebrating the traditions and customs of Spain on April 9th.
The Daniel de Cordoba Bailes Espanoles performed Flamenco songs and dances honoring a mutual friend, Ms. Edna Jane Travis, who passed away recently.
All the female dancers were from Spain, as well as the vocalist, who was a favorite of Ms. Travis’.
We were so pleased that the Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs was also a sponsor of the event.
The staff and Board of Trustees of the International Museum of Cultures were saddened to hear of the passing of Edna Jane Travis last night, long time friend and supporter of the museum, after a battle with cancer. We extend our deepest sympathies to Ms. Travis’ family and friends. Ms. Travis supported the museum’s week long Day Camp each Summer, which is named for her. She was a wonderful friend of so many staff and volunteers at the museum; she will be deeply missed.
There will be a service at 2 pm on Friday at the Activity Center on the campus of the International Linguistics Center, just across from the museum’s rear entrance. We will close just before 2 pm so that the museum staff can attend the service.
